Another week has passed =)

So there goes our third week in IMU. Boy, I feel like I’ve been in Sem 4 for 3 months already!

This week was rather busy. Dispensing practical, PSD and PBL all in three consecutive days! By the time it was Thursday, most of us were already mentally exhausted.

Granulation in pharmaceutical practical is a rather lengthy process and it ruined our Friday morning! It’s really just a waste of time. There were only 2 sieves available where there were like 30 of us!!!! My group had to wait for more than 30 minutes for our turn to use it and the drying process took up another 30 minutes. =.= I don’t understand if IMU is being stingy or the sieve cost like a thousand Ringgit each?

That’s Kelly with the powder mixture. She said that she has magic hands that are able to turn powder to granules.

DSCF0842 That’s the miserable sieve.

It took so long to finish that practical that everyone was starting to chit chat. Luckily the lecturer in charged of us was not that Spanish Ignacio. Otherwise we would have nausea and vomiting. Or maybe other further complications.

DSCF0844 You Ming the spontaneous POSER.

You Ming and his group members came out with a new method to clean the sieve, with faster results (kononnya).

Further posing:

DSCF0847 Perhaps, one day we will become some super genius pharmacies who are able to operate on patients too! Who knows right? =P

DSCF0848 Sharon with her smiling powders and granules. =)

So what else happened.. Hmn.. Oh Ya! Jason has a new hair cut!! Cute?

DSCF0851 And a new tummy!

Here’s the bow tie we bought for him for his 21st birthday.

DSCF0854 A new bow tie and a new hair cut. =)

I’m starting to get bored with Malaysia Studies. The lecturer will talk about the history of Malaysian government, how did it all started, how did Mahathir change Malaysia and the Malays, etc. The lecturer is very nice and a good story teller. But still, all these facts just bored us. Listen to that for 2 hours? =.=

We had some activities too, some cultural stuffs.

Here’s what we did today:

DSCF0855

Chinese paper cutting. Sharon and I forgot to bring our scissors so we just tore them, using our skilful hands. It turned out to be great! Although it looked a bit bloody and scary. And it seemed like it’s representing a broken marriage. Will these be a curse on both of us?? Haha..

I will just pass mine to Sharon. And so the curse will be hers. MUUUAAAHHAHHA.. May she meet her bf number…… =P

The First 2 weeks of Sem 4

So, it’s coming to an end for the second week ok Bpharm Semester 4. It has only been almost 14 weeks since it commenced and yet, most of us are already exhausted.

We are given horrible surprises at least twice a week.

First was knowing that there are 34 lectures in CNS module, not to mention there are 7 other modules that we need to prepare for our End of Semester Exam.

Then came Dispensing Practical. Everyone went to a shock and lost their confidence after that. Most of us were “emo” quite a bit after that practical.

Thirdly, we were told that we have a total of 2 weeks for our study break. 2 weeks = 14 days, to finish preparing for 8 modules. It means that we have approximately 2 days to prepare for each module. And for CNS, 17 lecture notes per day. =.=

What made all that worst is that we have Malaysian Studies on Saturdays and the msian studies project need to be handed in this semester as well.

Yeah, it’s stressful. It really is. But I’m starting to get used to it.

I try to find fun whenever and wherever I can.

Studying about brain is FUN.

Acting to study about brain was FUN.

Posing with the skeletons was FUN.

**Look at right at the back. It seemed that they too had fun. ;)**

I love to blog and yesterday a friend of mine said this to me:

“Wow, you still have time to blog????”

Ya, I have time. We all have time. We find time.

Can you really study all the time? You’ll read the notes whenever the lecturer is not around, or when we are having our precious 15 minutes break? Then you go back home, take your lovely bath, have your dinner, and then you continue to study again until your bedtime? I know that is the way to get First Class Honour but I know I can’t do that. I will be a rotten Hainanese girl if I ever did!

Anyway, did you guys hear of the channel “Xiao Tai Yang” from Astro? According to the official Astro website:

“Astro Xiao Tai Yang is a 24-hour channel dedicated to bring fun and educational programming for children from 4 to 12 years old.”

Fun? I doubt it.

So they were here shooting a TV programme for it (something to do with toothpaste and toothbrushes).

Ya, in IMU.

20100114_003

Sharon said that maybe IMU is facing some financial problems (even after sucking all our $$$ from our parents) and needs to find some alternative ways to earn more. And so, they rent out the venue? Maybe in the next few months we will be seeing more and more local artist shooting their films in IMU.

I took picture with two of the host. Thanks to You Ming who was even more “38” than me for being the photographer. If it was not for him, we won’t be at Ground floor trying to take photos with them and also, if it was not for him, no one would ever overheard the producers’ conversation saying that she was in the toilet (You can be a spy, You Ming!). And so, we waited for her to finish her business in the toilet, whatever it was.

I don’t really know their names actually, not until yesterday. All I knew was that they looked really familiar.

王雪晶

(Wang Xue Jin)

Don’t know if you guys still remember watching those 4 little girls (Si Qian Jin) singing Chinese New Year songs when we were around 9 to 12 years old? She was one of the singers.

6211ee18g7712f06de063&690

That’s the younger version of her.

She was really small size. Smaller than I had expected. Or maybe it was me who has been a giant all this while? =P

Next host.

郑伟康

(Zheng Wei Kang)

According to my friends, he was the winner of Astro Talent Quest? I don’t know about that. All I know is that he looks a lot like a friend of mine from Kluang, Nickson. Haha.

DSCN0470

Don’t they look alike? =)

Sem 4 may be challenging. But things are brighten up with all the friends around and by yourself, who needs to learn how to be happy over even minor stuffs. =)

I want to do revision everyday!

I really want to have my revision done everyday! Every single day. But what is stopping me?

Notes are pilling up and I can’t find my way to force myself to read them.

Why can’t I just stop feeling lazy and get my brain working on the notes?

Why can’t I just read my notes as though I’m reading Twilight Saga? (though I never did)

I want to be a bookworm. A cute and pretty one.

I want to stop going out.

I want to stop feeling lazy.

I want to stop day dreaming!

bookworm2 This is the new me.

No more outings. No more clubbing. No more yum cha. No more guys. No more shopping.

Stress

Sem 4 started for only less than a week and what am I feeling now is not motivating me to go on.

I've started to wonder if pharmacy is the suitable course for me. Do I really want to be a pharmacist? I don’t think so.

Why did I enrol into pharmacy? I don’t know.

Today’s dispensing practical was a hell and it made me realise that being a pharmacist is indeed difficult and challenging. How can I dispense a set of prescription within 30 minutes? Are the alternative drugs I’m giving to the patient appropriate? I don’t know.

Lectures has been reminding all of us that we need to remember all the stuffs we learnt from sem 1 until now. But I can’t. How can I remember what are all the drugs' names, their side effects and what are they contraindicated with?

I am not a student who do her revision constantly. Laziness is inside my blood since I was born.

Why did I choose this course in the first place? =.=

Semester 4 Resolution =)

So, the resolution that I made for Semester 3 worked pretty well for me, though there were a few things that I did not manage to keep up with.

So here comes semester 4. I have to start a hectic life all over again with a literally choking time table.

Gotta make a resolution again! Woo! =)

Semester 4 Resolution

  1. DO NOT oversleep when the alarm rings.
  2. DO NOT sleep in lectures.
  3. DO NOT miss any PBL session.
  4. NEVER be late for lectures.
  5. NEVER skip any lectures or workshops or CAL sessions. NEVER! Even if there is, not more than once!
  6. Sleep at 11.30pm at most and wake up at 6am every single day. =) [Does anyone need my morning call?]
  7. Pay 156.78% attention in class. Never wonder around in my own fantasy world even if it’s Prof. Yeoh’s lecturers.
  8. Never curse the printers in IMU. =.=
  9. Do my own Lab Reports. Referring 10% at seniors’ =P [I’ll try]
  10. Print notes every day.
  11. Get soft copies of notes every day. NOT at the last few weeks of the semester like I always did.
  12. Revise everyday!!! Five slides per night?
  13. No more Cafe World.
  14. No more MSN and Facebook all day.
  15. No GUYS. Yeap! With the exception of Tengku and Taylor a.k.a Jacob Darling. =)
  16. Swim 3 times a week.
  17. Get my lazy flat butt in Bukit Jalil Park on weekends.
  18. Fruits everyday!
  19. Diet. Diet. Diet. Diet. 47kg!!!!!!!
  20. Get a slimmer tummy and a bigger butt.
  21. Zu Yok Fan!!!!
  22. Guitar @ youtube. Duet with Jason Seng Yew Wei.
  23. Call home every week to Pat with Ah Jo.

OH Boy, I hope these work.

Trying my luck to get first class honour so that I don’t have to pay back my PTPTN loan of 80K. Then I am able to use the money to buy a house instead in the future. Eh, I can’t. Too cheap to buy a house. Maybe a Perodua car? =)

New Year’s Eve

So Dad booked us a table for the new year’s countdown in Cora Hotel or is it Corals, Cora’s? I don’t know and I don’t care. It looked pretty old to me. When Ah Jo and I first saw the hotel, we were like “mmm. Full stop.”

There’s a theme for the celebration which Dad never mentioned to us. Otherwise we would dress up according to it! (We would at least try)

“Masquerade”

I bet if Jason or CY were there, they must be excited as the theme is exactly same as the name of their dancing crew!

IMG_6865

Ah Jo, as usual, was taking photographs non stop.

IMG_6860

The chefs were still busy arranging the dishes when we arrived. We were there an hour earlier! Haha, Kia Su people, what to do? =P

IMG_6863

We were given a masquerade mask each and Dad took like 3 more extras. =.=

IMG_6893

new year2

Yeah. We looked pretty awesome in masquerade masks~

Dad always has his specs on and he complained that the wearing the mask with his specs underneath it was very uncomfortable.

This was how he figured a way to solve his problem.

IMG_6896

He looked damn funny.

Masquerade masks were nice. They are sexy and mysterious.

But sometimes they can make you look funny.. Like you are some kind of bird…. Peacock?

DSC_4135 [640x480]

DSC_4136 [640x480]

We couldn’t stop laughing after realising how funny we look.

Here are some photos of the various dishes served.

IMG_6868

IMG_6892

Oysters.

Taste pretty good in the fist bite but then weird taste started to find its way into the taste buds or your tongue. Disgusting!

IMG_6872

Cold prawns.

IMG_6870

Ham.

IMG_6871

Stuffed tomatoes. Nice =)

IMG_6875

IMG_6876

Fruits. Love how they arranged and decorated them.

IMG_6878

Desserts.

IMG_6879

IMG_6880

I think some are Christmas leftovers.

Ginger bread man cookies looked so cute! But taste. Oh my god, it tasted a million time worst than those cheap biscuits that you find in those groceries shops.

More deserts~

IMG_6883

IMG_6885

IMG_6886

IMG_6889

Looked nice and tasty eh? But I tell you, don’t be fooled by their appearance. I give them 5 out of 10 at most.

IMG_6891

Ah Jo found a new fan for her blog. =)

After finishing our dinner and listening to bored 80’s songs, the performers (some ladies from the Philippines, I guess) started to sing songs that are “acceptable” to your ears.

And that means, it’s PAARRTAAY time!

Most of the guests hit the dance floor.

DSC_4152 [640x480]

Never see myself having that big of a smile before.. =.=

I dragged mom to the dance floor as well. Got her post-menopause body to shake a little. :P

IMG_6897

IMG_6898

I was expecting some R & B or songs from Lady Gaga or the Black Eyed Peas. But maybe it’s due to the number of guests are made up of middle-aged couples and uncles and aunties, the songs were mainly from the 80’s. And ya, SAD.

Anyway, Sis and I still waited patiently for the right song to come.

DSC_4145 [640x480]

Had quite a fun time in the party. Getting to dance with your parents and Ah Jo, seeing pure Latino danced, marking hot guys.. (but there were none =.=)

DSC_4147 [640x480]

 IMG_6857

DSC_4119 [640x480]

Before midnight strikes, we left the party and headed to the park outside of KLCC.

As expected, there were thousands of people.

DSC_4158 [640x480]

DSC_4159 [640x480]

We are always afraid when it comes to this. Thousands of people gathering around. You never knew who you will bump in to or who will be watching and targeting you.

First time in my life, I actually met some guy, or maybe guys, who were eyeing on your belongings!

Here’s the first guy.

IMG_6905

IMG_6906

He was standing in front of us, eyeing on sis’s camera pouch. You can tell immediately if he is a criminal. Just looking at his tired and desperate eyes and his oily face, ew, one word that comes into your mind – Criminal!!

He moved after I accidently snap his photograph.

Ah Jo and I were starring at him and I think he started to noticed it, he looked worried and walked away.

Later we found out that this guys (the one with blue shirt) was actually his friend!

IMG_6904

He was standing right beside that and looking at mom’s handbag constantly.

We moved to a safer spots then.

Why are they so obvious? Can’t they be more professional as snatch thieves?  Sigh.

Anyway, who cares about them? I have a firework display to enjoy! =)

DSC_4170 [640x480]

It was very nice. But too bad the whole duration of it was only a mere 5 minutes.

And that was it. 2010 is finally here. Woo! 2010, give me some luck baby!!

The last time my family and I celebrated new year’s eve was exactly 10 years ago. Y2K.

Guess we will celebrate again 10 years later? =)

Oh Ya, did I mention that I saw this really charming boy? His name is Diego or maybe Alonsor.

Look just like my Taylor Lautner. Muax!
