The Amazing Insulin Pen :P

Getting an injection from the Insulin pen which is used for diabetic patients is not an experience everyone would had.

It is compulsory for us though, as pharmacist students, to inject ourselves with the pen so that we will know how does it feel like for diabetic patients who need to inject themselves 3 times daily with insulin.

However, we are not injecting any insulin into our body. We are just inserting the needle. :P

There are 2 employees from Eli Lily who were invited by IMU to brief us on the insulin pen.

He (I couldn’t remember his name) gave us a short briefing on how to use the pen.

Humapen. This is actually my first time to see and hold an insulin pen.

We were not given insulin for that practical session. A normal saline solution was provided instead.

Karmun was brave enough to volunter herself to be the first one to try injecting herself using the Humapen on stage.

Jason, my Hainan Kia, was already super duper anxious about the whole injecting issue even before the briefing started. =.=

A few of us was given a set of Humapen to share and to use it to inject ourselves and of course, with a new needle each time.

 

Sharon was the first one. She too, was very “gan-jiong”.

Next, it was me! I was very nervous then. I never inject myself or anyone before! Hands were cold and numb.

Poking a needle into your skin wasn’t as easy as it seems. I need to do twice to gain the guts to do so! =.=

They told me that it won’t hurt and there won’t be any bleeding after you remove the needle.

But what is this? Maybe I have too much fats and the effect had gone wrong?

It was Jason’s turn!

He didn’t want to do it at first even after minutes of persuading by us.

Mr Imran: “It feels just like a tiny ant bite, Jason!”

Jason: “Ah.. No No No…”

But still, he found the guts to do it on his own. =)

THE FACE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT.

I need to admit that it was a very unique experience that we had. I hope IMU will give us more of this one of a kind of personal encounters! =)

Even if they leave me with a bruise or so, I won’t mind it! =P

IMU Convocation August 2010

Last year You Ming and I went for the free lunch IMU provided for the parents and families of the newly graduates. It wasn’t really ethical to do so though. But who cares, we need to survive, we need food to survive! =P

And this year, we did it all over again! Hahaha..

Medicine students from IMU graduated, em, not really graduated YET. They are in semester 5 now and they need to further their studies else where, other IMU campus (not really sure about that though). And so, they are “graduating” from IMU.

You Ming and Jason told me about the free buffet lunch that IMU was providing to all those who attended the ceremony.

But we couldn’t care much, it’s a weekend in Bukit Jalil with nothing to eat here! It’s a super dead town here especially during weekends. So Ming and I decided to go there and enjoy our lunch!

The food was almost finished when we reached there and there were not enough of plates provided.. Haha, I know, eating free food and yet I still wanna complain =.=

I asked Min Pei to tag along as well. He was here celebrating Kelly’s birthday last night. =)

My plate was over-filled with too much food!!!

It was nice for the 3 of us to sit by the entrance of IMU, chatting non-stop on a sunny day, enjoying the food. Nice. =)

 

We also spotted a middle-aged guy who looks 94.35% alike as Aik Xiang!!!

Aik Xiang, I think you will look exactly like him after 10 years. =P

Min Pei and I then went for second round of lunch with my sistasss at the library in IMU.

When we were about to leave, there were many bouquets of flower being left behind in the atrium.

The flowers were all so nice and sweet. The best thing of all, there wasn’t anyone there!

We started to grab one for each of us and started to snap photos! Hahaa, the “crazy about taking photos” genes just run in our blood. =P

I am so looking forward to the day that someone will present me with a bouquet of convocation flowers! And a teddy bear wearing a square academic cap among them!

And by then, all of us will be very proud of what we’ve accomplished!

2 more years to go babes! Let’s bring that day closer to us each day sexily and filling all those coming days with super sweet and fun days!

And by then, we can take photos with all the flowers as many times as we like and have fun with them! =)

First Week of Semester 5

We were complaining so much during the first week of Semester 4 a few months back.

And now? Look at us. We are just too free! I have to admit that it’s kinda boring at times! 

First 5 days without any morning classes at all and I am only starting to get used to it now. I will really force myself to study more this semester. :P

The best part of all is that I still have all this sistas around me.

I am sure we will have more fun and laughter to come. =)

Week 2 of semester 5 is coming. And it will be surely the best week of my life. Why?

Because I’m going to Usher’s concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Usher has always been one of my top 10 lovers. I’ve never imagined that I would given the chance to meet him in person!

I am really looking forward to it and grateful for this very very very rare chance.

ARH! I still cannot believe it!!!!

My Very First Futsal Experince

You Ming had came out with this brilliant idea of having a futsal tournament among BP108 buddies (inspired by our seniors BP107).

It was said that it’s compulsory for guys to join this tournament and if they don’t, they are not considered as guys anymore (According to You Ming).

A few of us were really excited. Kelly, Lefei, RuYi, YitKuay and I made the first girl team to sign up for the game.

 

Haha. None of us had kicked a ball before in our lives!

We attended the first training session organised by You Ming as well. He was helped by Mun Fai and Faiz, who are really good in futsal too.

Haha. Anyway, You Ming got serious after that and instructed us with some warm ups.

We were divided into 4 groups, 3 for the guys and 1 for us, sexy chicks~

It was really awkward at first. Most of us were REALLY NOT GOOD in passing the ball or run with the ball or even striking a goal. But eventually, we got the feel of it, just a little though. :P I know we still suck in futsal..

Faiz was the coach for our girls team.

He gave us some training about striking a goal and it was so NOT easy. I always watch how those footballer strike a goal and I didn’t that it is so challenging!

Our toes were in pain after a few kicks and one of Kelly’s toes was even injured.

After all the basic trainings and explanation of the rules and regulations, we did a mini game. It was so nerve-racking (maybe to us, girls)!

It wasn’t easy at all to actually play a game. =.= You need to do strategies and all, which skill that none of us are ready for. So we were just lost and just chase at the ball. Damn, we were really messy…

I don’t understand why were we so noisy when we played. We kept screaming. I have no words to explain that. Haha.. It runs in the women’s blood~
