Jason and I and 10 other classmates volunteered ourselves to help out in an exhibition held by the Malaysia Pharmaceutical Society last weekend (15 May 2010 to 16 May 2010). We divided ourselves into 3 per group with each group in charged of either the morning or the afternoon session.
Mr. Benny was in charged of this programme and he gave us a tutorial before the actual event.
That’s Mr. Benny, an Indonesian lecturer. I enjoyed his lectures though some of his jokes can be really really really LAME. haha..
We had to go back to IMU to learn how to prepare calamine cream, which we need to demonstrate it on the event day itself.
Ingredients and procedures that are needed for the preparation of calamine cream.
From left: Jason, Kohila, Ignatious and Susan, preparing the lotion.
Aw~ The lovely pharmacist couple~ Sweet! =)
Jason, mixing the powdered ingredients.
Ignatious, mixing the cream on a tile.
And Ta DAH! Our calamine cream!
We need to pre-weigh all our ingredients because IMU wouldn’t allow us to bring the weighing balance to the exhibition venue. I have no idea why.
Peik Shuang and Jason having the ingredients weighed.
Jason, Peik Shuang and I were in charged for the afternoon session on Sunday. It was so so sunny that day and we walked for a quite distance. The burning sun made us feel like we’ve walked for hours.
Jason’s atomic bomb sweat!
The exhibition was held in Malaysia Tourism Centre. And again, I have no idea why. Even Mr. Benny couldn’t answer this question. Out of so many places, why Malaysia Tourism Centre? There is no correlation between pharmaceuticals and tourism AT ALL.
The weather was really really nice and it made us feel like we are tourists ourselves. =)
Jun Yan was with the morning session. We were there to take over their shift.
Mr Benny told us that it will very grand, with a lot of crowd. But on the event day itself, ah hem, the only crowd who came was Sharon and Ivan. =.=
Thank you Sharon and Ivan~~
Peik Shuang, Jason and I, getting ready to demonstrate to our only crowd, Sharon and Ivan.
That’s me~ ARh, I look like a professional! :P
Jason, smiling really sweetly. :)
Again, smiling really sweetly. =)
Mr. Benny asked us to clean up after that. We were like WHAT?? We are here for just 30 minutes sir! haha.. That was so so sad. No crowd at all. Noone knows about this event. JUST SO VERY SAD.
But then, we started to pose around. Haha. It runs in the Hainanese blood.
=)
No crowd? We just had our own fun in our own ways! Woo hoo!
We even went to Petaling Street after that. Woo!!
Jason couldn’t stop taking taking photos with Ivan’s nerdy specs. COUNTLESS PHOTOS.
Super nerdy. =.=
And after all that?? We were super exhausted. Both of us just collapsed in the LRT.
Was the demonstration a great experience? ERM.. I have no comment.
Really wanna thank Sharon and Ivan for coming.
Without you guys, I think we would end up talking to the air…. and the pots of plant there. =.=
